From the food we eat, to the clothes we wear and the hardware we use, many people aren’t aware that up to, “70% of the domestic products we buy in the United States are shipped to retail locations by truck.”
In fact, the ATA (American Trucking Associations) recently released their American Trucking Trends 2018, highlighting just how important the trucking industry is to our national trade and businesses. Influencing job growth, infrastructure laws, tax policy and more, the trucking industry generated over $700 billion in 2017, and “moved 69.1% of all trade between the U.S. and Mexico, and 57.7% of Canada-U.S. trade.”
Not only that, but the trucking industry employed over 7.7 million people in 2017, and continues to influence our supply chain and nation-wide labor market. While many may not think much of the transportation industry until a long-haul truck is beside them on the highway, our industry continues to grow and allows many American businesses to do the same.
Drivers are the heartbeat of the trucking industry, which is why Veltri prides itself in driver retention. We recognize that many young drivers entering the workforce appreciate more time with their families, which is why most Veltri drivers have the luxury of being home for dinner every night. We also offer competitive compensation and benefits packages as well as the latest technology to improve our company efficiency and cost-savings for clients.
As dedicated leaders in regional trucking we look forward to the continued growth of our industry. At Veltri, our mission is to focus on the design and execution of supply chain solutions that support our customer’s specific needs for NJ trucking, PA trucking, and DE trucking. Do you have questions about our services or driving for Veltri? We would love to hear from you!
