In the summer of 1973, Pete Veltri and his sons started a regional trucking business focused on providing exceptional customer service and dependable results. What started as a two-truck operation running one route has grown over the years to feature nearly 150 trucks operating throughout the Mid-Atlantic. While our family-owned business may have grown, our commitment to honesty, integrity, and reliability remains stronger than ever.
Our Trucking Equipment
Our trucking equipment rates as some of the industry’s best. Most of our trucks are less than two years old, and our older tractors are only used for shorter trips. Our comprehensive in-house maintenance program ensures that all of our equipment undergoes regular maintenance and safety inspections.
Veltri features a variety of tractors and trailers to choose from for our regional trucking in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware, including:

Our Drivers
At Veltri, we pride ourselves on retaining our drivers, with six years of employment being the average. We require that our drivers have at least two years of previous driving experience and clean records. Our interview process is extensive, and we only hire the best drivers. Our fair treatment and respect for our employees enable us to retain them as part of our regional trucking in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware.
Veltri drivers understand that they can talk to management and that we’re receptive to hearing feedback and addressing any concerns. We only hire seasoned drivers who require minimal training, but we require our drivers to meet quarterly to receive safety training.
Our compensation and benefits package is above the industry standard. Our employees receive high base pay, enjoy a generous 401(k) program, and have access to a quality health care plan. As a regional dedicated trucking company, our drivers spend their nights at home, not on the road.

Vacation
Every employee is eligible for vacation pay after 1 year of service otherwise known as their anniversary date. Employees with 2080 hours accumulated upon their anniversary date are eligible for
- After one (1) year – 2 Weeks
- After ten (10) years – 3 Weeks
Driver Benefits
Your health and future are important, and at Veltri, we support you with more than just words. Veltri understands you are working hard for the present and to build prosperity for the future. We offer a superior health, dental, disability, and life plan. To demonstrate our support for our drivers, Veltri pays for health care for our drivers (family coverage is additional). Further, we believe your future is important and we contribute 5% to your 401K. We also offer a paid vacation, and more. It’s more than great pay and benefits…it’s a commitment to your future.
Health Insurance – Plan through Blue Cross/Blue Shield
- Effective Date
Once your application for insurance has been accepted, coverage will begin on the first day of the month following 90 days of employment. - Brief Description of Coverage
The plan provides comprehensive hospital and major medical insurance. Participants can choose to go to PPO or non-PPO providers of medical services by using a PPO provider. Participants will pay a lower percentage of the co-insurance, lower deductible, and a lower annual maximum co-insurance amount. - Prescription Drug Benefits
The company provides a prescription drug card plan as part of the health benefit program.
Dental Insurance – Plan through Delta Dental
- Effective Date
Once your application for insurance has been accepted, coverage will begin on the first day of the month following 90 days of employment. - Brief Description of Coverage
Participants will pay a percentage of the co-insurance and deductible based on the type of procedure performed.
Life Insurance
- Effective Date
Once your application for insurance has been accepted, coverage will begin on the first day of the month following one calendar month of employment after hire. - Brief Description of Coverage
Employees will be entitled to life insurance coverage with a face value of $15,000. This plan also offers an accelerated life benefit pay in the event of a terminal illness and the ability to purchase additional voluntary insurance for themselves or dependents.
Short-Term Disability Insurance
- Effective Date
Employees are entitled to short-term disability benefits the first of the month following one year of service. - Brief Description of Coverage
Disability coverage is for non-work related sickness or injury. The short-term disability plan has a maximum benefit period for a limited number of weeks, subject to a 30 day elimination period. The weekly benefit amount is generally 60% of the employee’s weekly wage/salary, subject to a maximum weekly limit.
Flexible Benefits
The employee’s contribution for health, vision and dental coverage will be deducted from the employee’s paycheck on a pre-tax basis. This pre-tax advantage is made possible by Section 125 of the Internal Revenue Code.
401(k) Plan
This component allows the employee to set aside pre-tax dollars, via payroll to a retirement account.
Supplemental Life/AD&D-Voluntary Plan through AFLAC
- Additional life insurance is available in $15,000 units up to a maximum of $60,000
- Participants in supplemental life/AD&D may also purchase dependent coverage
- Portable or Convertible

Driver Qualifications at a Glance:
- Be at least 23 years old
- Have a minimum of 2 years recent verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Have a valid class (A) CDL
- Meet DOT requirements
- Pass a company physical, including substance screening
- No DWI/DUI convictions or pending
- Must be able to speak, read and write fluently in the English language
- Have the ability to assist with loading and/or unloading
- Applicant does not have a pending proceeding for suspension of driver’s license or has had his/her license suspended within the last three years
- No more than one major violation in the past 36 months, speeding, careless driving, etc.
- No more than two preventable accidents in the last three years, or any preventable accident that involved a fatality
- No DOT preventable accidents involving a jackknife, rear-ending, rollover, roofing incident, or lane change in the last year
- No major violations in 36 months
- Applicant must have the ability to obtain a postal ID badge
